Located in Shuzenji, Izu City, Shizuoka, Shuzenji Country Club is a 18-hole, par-72 mountain course designed by renowned architect Seizo Tomizawa. Opened on November 30, 1958, the course spans 110 hectares and features Bentgrass greens. The layout is divided into an Out course and an In course, each comprising nine holes. The total yardage from the regular tees is 6,356 yards, with the Out course measuring 3,024 yards and the In course 2,976 yards. The course is characterized by its mountainous terrain, which Tomizawa integrated into the design to create a strategic and aesthetically pleasing layout. The fairways are described as wide and spacious, allowing for a comfortable round, yet the design demands intelligent course management on every hole. Players are treated to natural scenery that includes views of Mount Fuji, blending the strategic demands of the game with the surrounding landscape. The scorecard details a mix of par-3, par-4, and par-5 holes. The Out course features a long par-5 3rd hole at 513 yards from the back tees and a short par-3 2nd at 154 yards. The In course presents a challenging par-5 17th at 463 yards and a par-3 16th at 183 yards. The course is played in a self-paced style, and facilities include a 220-yard driving range with 22 bays, a bunker and approach practice area, and a competition room.
