The course was developed on a 1.2 million square meter property and opened in 1987. The Championship Tee course has a rating of 72.7. Tom Kite praised the Obara location for its exceptional natural conditions, describing it as land "born to become a golf course." The design philosophy of both designers, informed by their extensive experience with world-class courses, is reflected throughout the 18 holes. Notable features include a fountain installed at the 17th hole in 1988. The course has hosted numerous international tournaments since its opening, including the World Exciting Golf series from 1987 to 1991, featuring top professional golfers. Obatagou Golf Club, officially known as Obatako Golf Club, is an 18-hole, par 72 course located in Takaoka, Gunma Prefecture, Japan. Oberon Golf Club is nestled beside Lake Oberon in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales, approximately two and a half hours west of Sydney. The challenging, undulating course was designed by prolific golf architect Al Howard and is carved through towering forests of gums. The course opened in 1958 with 9 holes and sand greens, was expanded to 12 holes, and reached its full 18-hole configuration by 1972. The course has a par of 70 and measures 5582 metres for the white markers and 5209 metres for the red markers. Oberon is famous for its small, sloping greens, spectacular views, and tight fairways, with another distinctive feature being the absence of any bunkers. The course is a cool climate layout at over 1000 metres altitude and can even receive a light dusting of snow during winter months. With an ACR rating of 68 and an AWCR of 71, the course presents many challenges through its hilly terrain. Golfers may encounter kangaroos while playing on the all-grass greens and well-groomed fairways.

Observatory Golf Club was officially established in 1914, with the course extended to 18 holes in 1922. Observatory Golf Club is the oldest golf club in Johannesburg still operating from its original grounds, celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2014. The course plays to a total par of 72 and consists of four Par 3's, 10 Par 4's and four Par 5's over 18 holes with a Course Rating of 73.4 and a Slope of 135. The course offers a range of play between 6131 to 6460 meters in length, catering to various skill levels and preferences. The course is not that long, but with narrow fairways and smaller greens, is a true test of intellectual golf. The course layout is a mix of gentle slopes, strategically placed bunkers, and water hazards, providing a balanced challenge for both amateur and seasoned players. The Par-5 7th Hole is a picturesque hole with a view of Johannesburg City Centre from the raised tee-box with a blind fall to a smallish green guarded in front by a pond. The par-4 10th Hole is stroke 1 for a reason. The out of bounds boundary fence running along the right hand side of the narrow fairway, with a tree line along the left hand side, is intimidating enough to make many a golfer leave the driver in the bag. Bunkers guard the long, narrow green left and right with a steep slope off to the left if you miss the green. This hole has proven many a golfer's nemesis. Bobby Locke, one of South Africa's greatest golfers, won the Open Championship four times playing out of Observatory. The Henning brothers learnt to play their golf at Observatory.
