The East Course is routed through residential neighborhoods but maintains focus through its strategic design, featuring substantial bunkering and water hazards throughout. The course is notably difficult from the opening holes, with the half-dozen front-side par-4s averaging 410 yards even from the middle tees. The final six holes of the East Course are particularly demanding and feature the most dramatic and signature holes on the layout. The 17th hole, a 207-yard par 3, stands out as the signature hole with a deep bunker on the right and water running the entire left side protected by a rock wall. The 13th hole is a standout par 4 featuring Pete Dye's signature railroad tie construction, with creative green undulations. The back nine culminates in a watery crescendo with water hazards present on four of the final six holes, creating a thrilling and challenging finish. The East Course has long served as the annual host venue for the Oklahoma Open, one of the most prestigious state championships in the country. The treacherous 8th hole features a pond-guarded green and railroad tie retaining wall that showcase Dye's mastery of creating both visually stunning and demanding challenges. The 14th hole is a 174-yard par 3 with water on the left side of the green and artificial mounding on the right side and in the back. The 9th hole is a 393-yard par 4 where players have little idea what to expect as a large pond resting in front consumes the majority of the foreground, and upon clearing the water, players are presented with an Alps hill in front of the green enhanced by spectacle bunkers. The West Course plays approximately two strokes softer than the East Course, making it accessible to golfers of varying skill levels while maintaining strategic interest.
