Labuan
Located in the Federal Territory of Labuan in East Malaysia, the Labuan International Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 72 course set on 200 acres of seafront land. Opened in 2013, the layout was designed by the Australian firm Parslow & Winter Golf Course Design. The course measures 6,182 metres in length and features a course rating of 72.4 with a slope rating of 130. The fairways are planted with Bermuda 419 grass, while the greens utilize Tifdwarf turf. The terrain is characterized by significant elevation changes, deep valleys, and natural water features that border much of the property. The South China Sea provides a backdrop to several holes, with the ocean visible from the fifth tee. The course retains 60% of its original flora and fauna, with jungle and forest lining many fairways. The design incorporates numerous bunkers, steep slopes, and water hazards, including a lake that guards the approach to the first green and a pond that protects the tenth green. The front nine presents a mix of demanding tee shots and precise approach play. The opening hole plays from elevated tees to a fairway perched above a lake, while the eighth hole, the par 4 index 1, is described as a long, demanding challenge that many players may need to play as a par 5. The ninth hole requires accuracy over a deep valley to a small green with three distinct hole locations. The back nine opens with the tenth, a long par 5 that features multiple water carries and a green situated on a peninsular surrounded by deep hollows and water. Notable holes include the thirteenth, a downhill par 3 with views toward the town centre, and the sixteenth, a short par 3 where bunkers sandwich the front of the green and an upper tier sits to the back right. The eighteenth hole serves as a challenging finisher, featuring a dogleg left with three bunkers along the fairway and a green divided into three sections with steep drop-offs nearby. The club also maintains a 16-bay driving range, practice greens, and a practice bunker to support player development.
