Located in Altube, Álava, within the Gorbea Natural Park, the Zuia Club de Golf is a nine-hole course established in 1982. The layout is designed to be played twice, allowing golfers to complete an 18-hole round. The course spans 17 hectares of flat terrain, characterized by narrow fairways lined with century-old oak trees, pines, and beeches. Natural lakes are integrated into the design to add technical difficulty, requiring strategic play rather than power. The course offers two sets of tees to accommodate different skill levels. The yellow tees measure 5,606 meters with a par of 70 for the full 18 holes, while the red tees shorten the distance to 4,806 meters, also for a par of 70. The slope rating is 140 for men and 139 for women, with course values of 70.6 and 71.2 respectively. The estimated time to complete the round is approximately four hours. The setting is defined by its integration into the natural landscape, with the course situated at the foot of Mount Gorbea and overlooking the Urkabustaiz and Zuia valleys. The environment is described as a dense forest where the trees act as strategic hazards, penalizing shots that deviate from the fairways. The club maintains a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, managing water resources and respecting the biodiversity of the natural park. Zuia Club de Golf hosts a variety of annual competitions, including the Trofeo San Prudencio, the XXXI Trofeo Perretxiko, and the historic XXXIV Trofeo AXA-Bustamante. The club also features a golf school and a restaurant housed in a renovated traditional Basque farmhouse, serving as a social hub for the local community and visitors. The facility is located 33 kilometers from Bilbao and 20 kilometers from Vitoria-Gasteiz.
