Located in the quiet mountain area of Guanxi Township in Hsinchu, Sunshine Valley Golf Club is an 18-hole course with a par of 72 and a total length of 6,860 yards. Designed by a combination of American and Japanese golf masters, the layout blends the expansive nature of American courses with the precision of Japanese design. The terrain is characterized by overlapping hills and natural ponds that create a unique field of view, while the course is surrounded by layered mountains that offer a distinct sense of tranquility. The fairways are lined with cedar trees that form a winding entrance avenue, integrating the course naturally into the surrounding forest. White egrets are frequently seen flying over the emerald green fairways, adding to the natural atmosphere. The club features a clubhouse built in a Spanish style with red tiles and white walls, housing a restaurant on the second floor that overlooks the entire course through large glass windows. The course presents a variety of challenges, including dogleg holes, uphill and downhill slopes, and numerous water hazards. Several holes feature out-of-bounds areas, particularly on the right side, requiring precise driving. The 15th hole is notable for having two different greens depending on the day's flagstick placement. Bunkers are strategically placed around many greens, often in conjunction with water hazards, to test approach shots. Specific hole characteristics include the 4th hole, a 172-yard par 3 that plays slightly uphill with a water hazard directly in front of the green. The 9th hole is a 571-yard par 5 that requires careful navigation of a lateral water hazard on the second shot. The 12th hole, a 429-yard par 4, features a water hazard to the right rear of the green surrounded by five bunkers. The 16th hole is a 200-yard par 3 where shrubs and bunkers surround the green, with out-of-bounds to the right.
