Whispering Springs Golf Club is an 18-hole course located in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, designed by Bob Lohmann in 1996. Built on the site of the former Ledgeview Golf Course, a 9-hole layout, Lohmann reimagined the property to create a distinctive playing experience where no two holes are alike.
The course features contrasting designs across its two nines. The front nine employs a links-style layout, guiding players through rolling meadowland characterized by native grasses. The back nine transitions into a more traditional woodland setting, weaving through mature trees that originally lined the older course. This variety in terrain and setting maintains player engagement while demanding strategic thinking throughout the round.
The course has earned recognition as Fond du Lac's best golf course for 12 consecutive years and received a 4½-star rating from Golf Digest's Places to Play. Whispering Springs is positioned as a quality daily-fee facility offering championship-caliber golf without equity commitments or membership minimums. Its central location, approximately one hour from Appleton, Green Bay, Madison, and Milwaukee, makes it accessible to regional players. The club hosts various tournaments, outings, and leagues throughout the season that are open to the public.
