West Bradford Golf Club is an 18-hole private members course located three miles northwest of Bradford city centre in West Yorkshire, near Haworth and accessible to Leeds and Harrogate. Originally founded in 1900 by Bradford textile barons with an initial design by James Young, the course was completely redesigned in the 1940s by the renowned Hawtree + Son architectural firm, with two new holes added. The Hawtree layout has been preserved and remains largely unchanged from its original 1940s design.
The course features undulating terrain that is not physically demanding but presents strategic challenges through sloping greens and tight fairways. The prevailing westerly breeze adds to the difficulty. The design emphasizes precision over length, requiring golfers to navigate carefully around the course's key features. West Bradford hosts open competitions and welcomes visitors, providing a testing yet pleasurable round that has earned repeat visits from numerous golfers over the years.
