West Bank Golf Club is an 18-hole course located in East London, South Africa, perched on the seacoast edge of the Wild Coast region. Founded in 1907 as a 9-hole course, it was extended to 18 holes around 1930. The White Tee plays to Par 71 at 5,782 meters, while the Red Tee is Par 73 at 5,262 meters.
The course is renowned for its exceptional oceanic views, with the front nine flowing alongside the Indian Ocean and all tees offering panoramic sea vistas. The distinctive Hood Point lighthouse, the club's emblem, stands within the course boundaries, making West Bank one of only three South African courses with a working lighthouse on its grounds. A historic cemetery containing World War II servicemen's graves also lies within the property.
The signature Par 3 seventeenth hole, measuring approximately 160 meters, presents a challenging test with a raised green, minimal approach area, and wind-dependent club selection. From June through early November, players may observe migrating Humpback and Killer whales visiting the coastal waters.
The course has hosted notable tournaments, including the Senior Golfers Union of South Africa's national championship in May 2022.
