Golfclub Münster-Wilkinghege e.V. was founded in 1963 and takes its name from Wasserschloss Wilkinghege, a water castle located adjacent to the course. The club is the oldest golf facility in the region and features a Westphalian parkland layout characterized by mature trees, streams, and biotopes that create an distinctive playing environment.

In 2018, renowned Canadian course architect David J. Krause redesigned ten holes at the club. Krause specializes in golf course construction, and twelve of his designs are ranked among Germany's top 50 courses. The course combines natural landscape features with carefully crafted design elements to provide a comprehensive golfing experience. The facility includes a driving range, halfway house, and on-site restaurant, with cart usage currently restricted. The club maintains active competitive programs including tournaments, junior development, and team competitions throughout the season.
