Golfclub Münster-Wilkinghege was founded in 1963 and takes its name from Wasserschloss Wilkinghege, a water castle located adjacent to the course. The club is the oldest golf facility in its region and features an 18-hole parkland layout set within a characteristic Westphalian landscape.
The course is characterized by mature tree stands, streams, and biotope areas that create a distinctive natural setting. In 2018, renowned Canadian course architect David J. Krause redesigned ten holes at the club. Krause is recognized as a specialist in golf course construction, with twelve of his designs ranked among Germany's top 50 courses.
The course offers scenic views and natural beauty throughout the layout, with water features and well-established vegetation providing both aesthetic appeal and strategic challenge. The redesign work undertaken in 2018 represents a significant modernization effort while maintaining the course's parkland character. The club continues to develop its facilities and course quality while preserving the natural environment that defines the Wilkinghege experience.
