Welshpool Golf Club is an 18-hole course set high on Golfa Hill above the market town of Welshpool in Mid Wales. Designed by James Braid, the renowned five-time Open Champion, in 1930, the course exemplifies his philosophy of working with natural contours. The layout winds across elevated fairways offering panoramic views of the Mid Wales countryside, Shropshire hills, and Snowdonia mountains.

The course presents a challenging layout with varied holes, requiring strategic shot placement. Its hillside setting on naturally draining ground ensures almost year-round playability. The terrain and elevation changes create an undulating, demanding experience even for experienced golfers. Originally established in 1894 within Powis Castle's historic Deer Park, the club relocated to its current Golfa Hill location in 1930.

Welshpool welcomes visitors and societies without requiring handicap certificates. The club provides electric buggies and offers affordable green fees with twilight rates available. A clubhouse facility allows post-round refreshment. The course has earned recognition for its scenic beauty and challenging design, maintaining excellent course conditions and offering a memorable golfing experience.
