Located at the foot of Mount Tsukuba in Ibaraki Prefecture, Tsukuba Golf Garden is a nine-hole short course designed in a links style. The facility, situated in Tsukuba city, offers a compact layout that allows for practice and play to be combined, featuring a 210-yard natural grass driving range alongside the course. The terrain is characterized by small greens, narrow landing areas, and significant hazards, creating a challenging environment for golfers of all skill levels. The course layout consists entirely of par 3 holes, with distances ranging from a short 36 yards to a long 128 yards. The design incorporates numerous bunkers, out-of-bounds areas, and dense vegetation to test accuracy. The first hole presents a 51-yard shot over a bunker to a raised green, while the second hole requires a 111-yard approach to a slightly elevated green guarded by bunkers on the left and rear. The seventh hole stands as the longest on the course at 128 yards, demanding precise distance control to avoid out-of-bounds on the right and bunkers guarding the green. Notable hazards define the difficulty of the course. The fifth hole is described as a dangerous 60-yard shot over water to a firm, sloping green. The sixth hole features a tee shot from a bunker, with an Allison bunker guarding the front of the green and out-of-bounds boundaries limiting the margin for error. The eighth hole plays back toward Mount Tsukuba, with bushes and bunkers protecting a small, sloping target. The facility includes a workshop for club fitting and repair, allowing visitors to adjust equipment between rounds. The course is designed to accommodate beginners and advanced players alike, with a focus on quick play and score improvement.
