Tribute Golf Course opened in August 1929 as the first public golf course in Wausau, originally built by American Legion Post 10 and known as "The Legion." The course is located at 1001 Golf Club Road in Wausau, Wisconsin. Historically, the course remained relatively unchanged for decades before recent improvements by the current ownership group. In 2022, a completely new par-3 hole was added on the former pitching field south of the clubhouse, bringing the course to 10 playable holes. This expansion allows for continued course upgrades without necessitating a reduction to 8 holes during construction. The additional tee areas installed by current management enhance flexibility for various skill levels. Future development plans include construction of 2-3 new greens or updates to existing greens to improve overall playability. The course serves as an important venue in the Wausau golf community, where many area players have developed their skills.
