Transit Valley Country Club, established in 1921 in East Amherst, New York, is an 18-hole championship course approximately 18 miles northeast of Buffalo. The course was constructed in two phases, with the front nine completed in September 1922 and the back nine finished in 1924. George Langlands, a course construction expert who worked under renowned designer Donald Ross, oversaw the development with significant member participation in the construction process.

The club has earned recognition as one of the finest golf courses in New York State. Its historical significance is underscored by visits from legendary golfers including Walter Hagen (an Honorary Member), Sam Snead, Gene Sarazen, Bobby Locke, Cary Middlecoff, and Jackie Burke. The course's reputation attracted major tournaments, including hosting the New York State Amateur Golf Tournament, for which the championship trophy is named after Ganson Depew, a prominent Honorary Member from 1924-1934.

Located in the rolling terrain of Western New York, Transit Valley offers a challenging layout designed during golf's classic era. The course serves as both a competitive venue and a family-oriented private club with additional recreational facilities.
