Located in Yangsan, South Gyeongsang Province, Tongdo Pinest Country Club features two distinct 18-hole courses, the South and North, both set at a par of 72. The South Course, which opened first, measures 6,738 meters from the blue tees and is characterized by longer distances that reward power. The North Course, registered later, spans 6,247 meters from the same tees and is designed to test precision and technical skill. The property, originally established as Wonhyo Development and later rebranded, underwent significant changes including a name change to Tongdo Pinest Country Club and the opening of its second course in the late 1990s.
The South Course layout includes three par-5s on the front nine and two on the back, with the 7th hole stretching 556 meters from the blue tees. Water hazards are prominent, particularly on the 3rd hole where a parallel water hazard guards the green, and the 8th hole features a downhill short hole with water in play. The 4th hole is a 530-meter par-5 flanked by out-of-bounds areas on both sides, requiring careful navigation. Several holes, including the 5th and 13th, feature double greens and undulating lies that complicate putting.
The North Course offers a different challenge with its 470-meter opening par-5 and a 547-meter 15th hole. The 4th hole is a 264-meter par-4 that presents an eagle opportunity for long hitters, while the 16th hole is noted for its multiple hazards, including a parallel water hazard in the middle of the fairway and out-of-bounds on the right. The course features several downhill short holes, such as the 7th and 12th, which require careful club selection due to distance misjudgment. Out-of-bounds is marked by white stakes throughout the property, and fairway markers indicate distances of 100 and 150 meters from the center of the green.
Both courses are interspersed with ponds and small lakes, and each features separate pavilion-style rest areas. The South Course is described as offering a power-oriented game, while the North Course emphasizes technical finesse. The club has undergone several management changes, with Kim Eun-soo serving as the representative director since 2007. The facility continues to operate with a focus on providing a challenging yet comfortable round for golfers of varying skill levels.
