The Oaks Golf Club is a 150-acre championship course located in Delaware, Ontario, situated on the sandy banks and bluffs above the Thames River valley. Established in 1993 by the Spivak family, the 18-hole, par-72 layout was designed by renowned architect Rene Muylaert. The course is characterized by a distinct split in its terrain, featuring a links-style front nine with open fairways that transitions into a parkland back nine defined by mature oak trees and spring-fed ponds. The difficulty of the course is varied, testing golfers with a mix of long par-5s and demanding par-3s. The back nine includes the course’s longest hole, the 18th, which measures 650 yards from the back tees, while the front nine features significant elevation changes and strategic hazards. Notable holes include the 6th, a 205-yard par-3 that serves as the 9th handicap, and the 15th, a 165-yard par-3 ranked as the 18th handicap. The front nine also features the 5th hole, a 519-yard par-5 that plays as the 1st handicap. The Oaks has established a reputation for hosting prestigious events and attracting professional players, including PGA legends such as Moe Norman, Mike Weir, Fred Couples, and John Daly.
