The Landing is the original course at Reynolds Lake Oconee, designed by Bob Cupp and opened in 1986. The course measures 6,991 yards and plays to a par 72, offering challenging play for golfers of all skill levels. Located in a naturally wooded setting with rolling hills, the course winds through the landscape providing scenic views of Lake Oconee throughout.
The Landing features a variety of challenging holes that test accuracy and course management. Notable difficult holes include the fourth, which borders Lake Oconee with out-of-bounds concerns, and the fifteenth, where approach shots risk rolling back down the fairway. The eleventh is identified as one of the most difficult par-3s at Lake Oconee, requiring a full carry uphill to the green. Strategic design elements include bunkers, ponds, and water hazards that define shot-making options on most holes.
The course underwent renovation in 2013 after Reynolds acquired it in 2005. The combination of natural terrain, water features, and bunker placement creates a layout that rewards both distance and precision while remaining playable for recreational golfers.
