The Hills

The course evolved organically from a personal project initiated by Sir Michael Hill, beginning with a putting green in his front garden during the 1980s and gradually expanding over three decades into an 18-hole championship layout. The course features a unique blend of golf and art, with large-scale sculptures integrated throughout the property, transforming it into an open-air gallery alongside the playing surfaces.

Originally developed as a par-three course, The Hills has grown into a full championship golf course with a clubhouse and established membership. The setting takes advantage of the natural Arrowtown landscape and terrain. The property combines recreational golf with a lifestyle community aspect, featuring both sporting facilities and cultural elements through its sculpture collection. The club has recently partnered with experienced developers to continue its evolution as a premium golf and lifestyle destination in the Queenstown region.
