Millbrook Resort offers two 18-hole championship golf courses set amongst 650 acres in the Wakatipu basin, surrounded by towering mountains. The original course was created by John Darby and Bob Charles, opening in 1992. The Remarkables course features the original design from 1992 plus redesigned closing holes by Greg Turner and Scott Macpherson in 2009, while the Coronet course was initially designed in 2010 and extended to 18 holes in 2021. The Remarkables course has a par of 71, while the Coronet course has a par of 72.
The golf courses are best described as alpine links courses, offering natural hazards including tussocks, streams, schist stone, trees and buildings. The Remarkables course features good-width fairways with many pot bunkers and water hazards on at least seven holes, with greens shaped and sized according to each hole's demands. The Coronet course blends with natural rugged features including schist outcrops, big undulations, and low-lying wetlands.
Millbrook is the proud home of the New Zealand Open and regularly receives global awards including the best Asia Pacific Golf Course. Both courses feature five different tee positions for all levels of playing expertise.
