An Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course, The Den at Fox Creek opened in Bloomington on August 1, 1997, as the city's third municipal course. The 18-hole layout measures 6,926 yards from the Palmer Tees with a USGA Course Rating of 72.9 and Slope Rating of 128. The course features a distinctive Scottish Links-style design, with bentgrass tees, greens, and fairways contrasting against native wild prairie grasses in the rough. Strategic course architecture includes 131 sand traps positioned throughout extremely wide fairways, and water hazards on nine holes, creating both visual appeal and strategic challenge. The facility offers comprehensive practice amenities including a large putting green, chipping green with practice bunker, and expansive grass driving range with target greens. A full-line pro shop provides equipment and apparel. The course has earned recognition as a Golf Digest "Places to Play" 4½ Star Course and serves as host for the Illinois High School Association's Class AAA Boys State Championships.
