The Country Club of Florida is an 18-hole championship course located in the Village of Golf, Florida, designed by renowned architect Robert Bruce Harris and opened in December 1956. The course features a unique routing where both nines maintain identical sequences of par fours, fives, and threes, creating a distinctive layout that has been preserved through multiple renovations.
The course underwent significant redesign by Arthur Hills in 1987, transforming its style and beauty. The thirteenth hole emerged as the signature hole following this renovation. In 2006, Lester George directed a second major renovation that deepened and enlarged ponds and lakes, expanded bunkers to 83 total, and created expansive views throughout the naturally surrounded course.
The Country Club of Florida has hosted prestigious national tournaments, including the 1958 Western Amateur Championship (the first ever held in the Southeast), the 1960 National Mixed Foursome Championship, and the 1963 USGA Senior Women's Amateur Championship. In 2012, it became the first club in Florida to host the Western Junior Amateur Championship. The course is set on land that was originally a dairy farm and has maintained its connection to this heritage throughout its history.
