The course is situated within a 42.353-hectare park setting that offers serene surroundings and breathtaking views of the creek valley. The layout features tree-lined fairways and water hazards, with hole 13 being a signature hole notable for its picturesque views of the green tree line and pond.

Originally developed from the former Tam O'Shanter Country Club, the course underwent a comprehensive redevelopment in 1980, which included a new clubhouse and automated irrigation system, along with a revised course layout. Subsequent improvements have modified tees and greens while adding landscape plantings to increase the challenge of play. The course is designed to accommodate golfers of varying skill levels, making it suitable for those learning the game as well as experienced players seeking to sharpen their skills.
