Takatsuki Country Club is an 18-hole forest course located in Takatsuki, Osaka, designed to maximize the natural topography and scenic beauty of the region. The layout features a total par of 72, with a back tee yardage of 6,330 yards. The course is characterized by its strategic use of ponds, valleys, and bunkers, offering a mix of uphill and downhill shots that challenge players of all levels. The terrain includes doglegs, elevated tees, and undulating greens that demand precise distance control and shot placement. The front nine presents a variety of challenges, starting with the uphill first hole where cross bunkers complicate the approach. The third hole is a long left dogleg par four, while the fourth is a short par three where wind direction significantly affects distance judgment. The fifth hole features a right dogleg with a pond guarding the front of the green, altering strategy for longer hitters. The sixth, an uphill right dogleg, is noted for its severe undulations and is considered one of the most difficult holes on the front nine. The seventh is a long straight par four with a narrowed approach zone, and the eighth is a par three with large winged greens that change difficulty based on pin placement. The ninth hole offers a dramatic downhill view toward the Hokusetsu mountain range, with a two-tiered green on the right side. The back nine continues the strategic test with the tenth hole, an uphill shot to a two-tiered winged green. The eleventh par three features a complex green structure with significant undulations, while the twelfth par four has a lateral water hazard guarding the front. The thirteenth is an uphill right dogleg with a two-tiered green that requires careful distance management. The fourteenth hole, a signature downhill par three, is known for its exposure to wind and a large pond in front of the green, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The fifteenth par four is a right dogleg where the green’s shape and slope make reading putts difficult. The sixteenth hole is a par five with a downhill second shot and OB hazards on the left, while the seventeenth is an uphill right dogleg where second-shot distance is hard to gauge. The eighteenth hole is a downhill par five with OB on the left and a large pond guarding the front, requiring a calculated drive and precise approach to finish.
