Takane Country Club ☆ Follow

Located in Saitama Prefecture, Takane Country Club is a 27-hole facility designed by Seizo Tomizawa and Hirochika Tomizawa. The course is divided into three distinct nine-hole loops: the West, South, and East courses. The West and South courses share a set of greens, while the East course utilizes its own separate green complex. The club opened in November 1962, with the initial 18 holes constructed by Kashima Construction, followed by the addition of the East nine in 1968. The layout features wide fairways with gentle undulations, incorporating strategically placed bunkers and water hazards to challenge players. The course utilizes two types of greens: Bentgrass for the A Greens and Korai grass for the B Greens, with the specific greens used varying by season. The West and South courses share a par of 36, while the East course is also par 36, bringing the total course par to 72. The yardage varies significantly by tee box, with the West/South Black tees measuring 3,417 yards and the East Black tees measuring 3,283 yards. Course ratings reflect the difficulty of the layout, with the West/South Black tees from the A Greens posting a rating of 72.5 and a Slope of 128. The East course from the Black tees on A Greens records a rating of 72.1 and a Slope of 132. The club has a history of hosting competitive events, including the Saitama Open Golf Tournament in 1985, won by Yoshinori Mizumaki, and the Kanto Single Player Golf Championship in 1974. The facility also hosted an opening commemorative stroke play event in 1962 featuring professional golfers such as Teruo Iwai and Teruo Sugihara.
