Located in Saitama Prefecture, Higashimatsuyama Country Club is a 27-hole facility designed by renowned architect Kinsuke Fujita and opened in November 1963. The course is divided into three distinct nine-hole loops: the East, Center, and West courses. Each nine plays to a par of 36, offering a total of 54 holes for play. The layout is characterized by significant elevation changes, with undulating fairways and slopes that demand precise shot-making. The East Course features a front nine that begins with a long par-4 protected by a water hazard on the right, followed by a short par-3 and a series of demanding par-4s. The back nine introduces a dogleg-right par-5 with water guarding the right side and a par-4 where the green is fronted by a pond. The Center Course presents a challenging opening hole that plays over a large valley, leading into a par-3 with a green guarded by a bunker and out-of-bounds. Its back nine includes a long par-5 with a water hazard near the green and a dogleg-right par-4 where out-of-bounds restricts the right side. The West Course is widely regarded as the signature layout, featuring a dramatic opening par-4 that requires a tee shot over water. The third hole is a par-4 that plays to a green flanked by two pine trees, a feature often cited as a club landmark. The layout concludes with a demanding par-5 where a water hazard on the right and a large bunker on the left create significant pressure for the approach shot. The course utilizes two sets of greens, designated as A and L greens, which vary the difficulty and routing depending on the tee box played.
