Tahoe Donner Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course located 45 minutes from Reno/Tahoe Airport, 15 minutes from Lake Tahoe and five miles from downtown Truckee. The course winds through towering pines with scenic fairways and fast greens. Situated at the highest elevation of any course in the Lake Tahoe region, the course is framed by granite outcroppings, creeks, and towering pines. The 7,002-yard course boasts the highest elevation of any course in Tahoe, and with narrow fairways and thin mountain air, it puts a premium on accuracy off the tee rather than length.

Originally opened in 1976, the front nine was designed by Roy Williams and completed by famed architect Billy Bell Jr., who designed the back nine. In 2006, the course underwent an extraordinary renovation directed by architect Cary Bickler and renowned shaper Eddie Krikorian, earning a nomination from Golf Digest Magazine for Best Remodeled Golf Course in America in 2007. The course underwent a significant $2 million renovation in 2020 that included a complete resurfacing of all greens with Creeping Bentgrass, reshaping of several holes, and improvements to tees and fairways. As a result, the course was ranked among the Top 50 U.S. public courses by NBC's Golfer's Choice in 2023.

Tahoe Donner's signature hole features panoramic views and a dramatic change in elevation, showcasing everything that makes mountain golf memorable with scenery that rivals the challenge. The course has been part of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program since 1999 and takes measures to support water quality and conservation, wildlife habitats, resource management, and green equipment.
