Ponderosa Golf Course

Ponderosa Golf Course is a nine-hole facility located in Truckee, California, featuring 3,022 yards of golf with a par of 35. Originally developed by Truckee townspeople in 1961, the course has a rich local history, changing ownership several times before being purchased by the Airport District in 2008. It is now maintained and managed by the Truckee-Donner Recreation and Park District.

The course offers three sets of tee boxes to accommodate varying skill levels, providing a fun yet challenging golfing experience. Set in the Sierra Nevada region near Lake Tahoe, the course is known for its fabulous views of the surrounding landscape. Amenities include chipping and practice greens, driving nets, a pro shop, and a snack bar. The facility is designed for recreational play and remains protected from residential and commercial development as part of its purchase agreement with the Airport District.
