Designed by George Cobb and opened in 1960, Surf Golf & Beach Club is situated just steps from the ocean in a maritime forest. The course is an 18-hole par 72 championship layout with four tee boxes offering varying degrees of difficulty for all skill levels. The course measures 6,709 yards with a rating of 72.8 and a slope of 134. As the Grand Strand's third-oldest golf course, the club remains relatively unknown despite its established history.
The course challenges golfers of all abilities and is characterized as a shotmaker's course. Precision is particularly important when approaching the course's multi-tiered green complexes, which underwent a 2016 renovation project that included the installation of Champion Bermudagrass. Utilizing 200 acres of gently contoured, varied terrain, the 18-hole track was crafted to complement its beautiful parkland setting. Practice facilities include a driving range, short game area, and putting green.
