Sundance is an 18-hole championship golf course with a par of 72, measuring 7,003 yards from the longest tees. The course was designed by Jerry Matthews, ASGCA, and opened in 2005. Nestled on glacier-carved bluffs between Torch Lake and Grand Traverse Bay, Sundance exemplifies the extraordinary natural beauty of northwest Michigan with views of both Torch Lake to the east and Lake Michigan to the west.
The course features wide, playable fairways, superbly sculpted greens, vast windswept bunkers, heather-clad mounding and spectacular vistas. Throughout the course, golfers are tested with uphill and downhill tee shots and approaches to greens, with depth of variety in both width and length of holes. The green complexes are distinct, with most having significant contouring and rarely presenting a flat putt. The course has a rating of 73.2 and a slope rating of 133.
The Sundance Course at A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort has been selected as the 2023 Michigan Golf Course of the Year by the Michigan Golf Course Association. When it opened in 2005 it was named the third best new course in the country.
