Designed to offer a unique challenge on every hole, the layout is described as suitable for beginners while still providing sufficient difficulty to challenge more experienced golfers and test their handicap. The course is noted for its top-quality greens. The club was founded in 1993 and operates as a family-run establishment. It caters to a wide range of players, including full members, five-day members, ladies, and juniors, welcoming all levels from beginners to advanced players. The club maintains a strong competitive presence in inter-club events, having won the Newsam Cup in 2007 and the Killane Cup in 2015, while also reaching the finals of the Newsam Cup in 2015. Other notable competitions include the Pierce Purcell, the Leinster Fourball, and the Jimmy Carroll Cup. Social and competitive camaraderie is central to the club's culture, with midweek and weekend competitions held throughout the year. Members frequently participate in a nine-hole Scramble and BBQ during summer evenings, as well as an annual Ryder Cup-style matchplay event known as 'The Dubs V The Rest', where members compete in their county colours. The club philosophy emphasizes enjoying the game, the friendly atmosphere, and post-round refreshments.
