Stoughton Acres Golf Course ☆ Follow

Designed by Van Smith, the Stoughton Acres golf course opened in 1964. The course is a family-friendly, privately-owned public golf course located just north of Butler, PA. The 18-hole course features 6081 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. The peaceful setting includes some good water holes. The design features a natural lay of the land with dipping fairways and big greens.

The course rating is 67.4 and it has a slope rating of 115. Some holes are considered among the most difficult on the course. The signature hole is a fun par five where drives go over the road and down the hill in the fairway, with the second shot requiring all carry over water from a downhill, sidehill lie, while circling winds in the valley can affect play. Each hole has a cute inscription at the tee box. The course has been maintained as a community fixture in western Pennsylvania, hosting regular outings and events for golfers of various skill levels.
