The original nine-hole Storm King course, designed by Willy Norton and George Low, opened in 1894. The club is a private, 63-acre golf sanctuary in Cornwall, New York—just 56 miles from New York City and surrounded by the majestic views of Storm King Mountain and the Catskills. A stream cuts across part of the property, which plunges more than 100 feet from high to low points.

After troubled financial times earlier in the 21st century, the club was purchased by software executive David Gang, who teamed with the Hudson Valley Golf Foundation to reimagine the course, with Chris Gray, formerly director of design for the PGA Tour, leading the design effort. The redesigned course offers 50 unique golf holes, multiple routings, quad, triple, and double greens, and a sense that every direction offers a new possibility. With five distinct nine-hole routings, 225,000 square feet of greens (including one quad green, two triple, three double, and four single greens), and over 30 multi-directional tee locations, Storm King is a configurable golf experience with over 50 unique golf holes.

The greens are boldly contoured and guarded by ponds and deep, flat-bottomed bunkers. Overlaid on top of it all is a 19-hole par-3 layout for shorter, sharper play or a fun challenge with friends. The facility serves adaptive golfers, wounded veteran golfers and other groups.
