Set on over 350 acres in historic Cape May Court House and minutes from South Jersey beaches and Atlantic City, Stone Harbor Golf Club offers a private golf club experience. The 18-hole course features 6,935 yards and a par of 72, and was designed by Desmond Muirhead, opening in 1988. The course features five sets of tees, water hazards on eleven of the eighteen holes and 58 bunkers. The Desmond Muirhead design has been voted one of the "Top Ten" Private Clubs in New Jersey and consistently receives accolades for its outstanding condition and challenging layout.
Muirhead excavated over a million cubic yards of earth to create elevated teeing areas, mounding and valleys, while maintaining the large stands of trees throughout the property. One of Muirhead's signature creations was the par-3 seventh hole, originally nicknamed "Jaws" for its tiger-shaped teeth bunkers framing an island green, though it has since been transformed to a more reasonable yet still difficult island green configuration. The course has hosted notable tournaments including the Eastern Club Professional Championship in 2001 and has been ranked #40 America's Toughest Golf Courses by ESPN.com.
