States Golf Course is a public golf course located 2 miles east of Schoolcraft and 11 miles south of Portage in a picturesque country setting. Established in 1927, the course features 18 holes with a men's par of 72 and women's par of 74, offering five tee options ranging from 4,535 to 6,171 yards from the blue tees.

The front nine showcases large open fairways with abundant trees in play, playing longer with spacious greens that favor longer hitters. The back nine contrasts with tighter, closer fairways, smaller and firmer greens built on an old clay base, demanding precision and strategic play. The greens throughout are relatively flat but feature tricky speeds that challenge putters on both nines. The course's distinctive name originates from its original back nine greens, which were shaped like different U.S. states, with hole 17—the course's only water hole—historically designed as Michigan.

States Golf Course is player-friendly and suitable for golfers of all abilities and ages. The family-owned and operated course, managed by the Jasiak family since 1982, underwent significant renovation following a fire in 2009, with a new clubhouse completed in 2010. The layout accommodates both casual play and organized outings.
