Sparkwell Golf Course

Welbeck Manor Golf Course is a 9-hole course located in Sparkwell, on the outskirts of Plymouth in Devon, set among picturesque countryside with views of the South Hams. The course features open fairways suitable for golfers improving their handicap, alongside more challenging holes for low handicappers. The layout includes Par 3s through to Par 5s, with the option to play a second round from different tee positions to create an 18-hole experience.

The course is situated within a historic country house built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel in 1847, which has undergone significant recent refurbishment. Since new ownership in April 2021, substantial investment has been made to improve the greens and overall course condition, with the aim of establishing it as one of the South West's premier 9-hole courses. The setting combines accessible location—only minutes from the A38 near Plympton and Plymstock—with peaceful surroundings. The course welcomes golfers of all abilities and is affiliated with Sparkwell Golf Society for those wishing to maintain handicaps and enter competitions.
