Somerset Country Club was chartered in 1921 and is located in Somerset, Pennsylvania. The course opened as a 9-hole course in 1921, with the back nine added in 1986 and designed by Ferdinand Garbin. The course is a Tillinghast design that has maintained a classic feel and calm atmosphere. Par for the course is 72, and from the back tees the course plays to 6,660 yards.
The layout takes full advantage of the rolling hills and natural elevation changes, with strategically placed bunkers and water hazards adding to the complexity. The course emphasizes logical shot selection and club choice, with several par 4s requiring irons off the tee. Hole 8, a 415-yard par-4, is the most difficult hole on the course and features a pond that comes into play for long hitters, with the green sloping back-to-front and guarded by a bunker on the right.
As a semi-private country club, Somerset offers premier golf and dining for both members and the general public.
