Shenvalee Golf Resort in New Market, VA features 27 PGA holes of golf on three separate nine-hole courses. The "Olde Course" first opened to the public in 1927 with Bobby Jones performing the honors, and still maintains its original design today. A "back nine" was added in 1964, and in 1992 nine additional holes were created, thus forming today's "Creek Course" and "Miller Course". Designer Edmund B. Ault contributed to the resort's development.
The Massanutten Mountain rises more than 2,900 feet to the east, providing scenic mountain backdrop to the facility. The "Creek Course" at Shenvalee is a picturesque 9-hole course with Smith Creek winding throughout. The 9-hole Miller course at the Shenvalee Golf Resort facility in New Market, features 3,267 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 36. The courses offer different difficulty levels, with challenging terrain with no flat areas requiring a lot of placement, and greens with a little trickiness to them.
Shenvalee Golf Resort is one of the oldest continuously operating golf courses in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The resort functions as a complete destination, offering onsite lodging and dining facilities alongside the golf courses.
