Shangri-La Golf Club features 27 championship holes with lakefront views on Grand Lake in Oklahoma. Located on Monkey Island and hugging the shoreline of Grand Lake O' the Cherokees, the course delivers a full-scale resort golf experience with three pristine nines. The three courses—Legends, Heritage, and Champions—all play to par 36, with Champions designed by Randy Heckenkemper and Heritage and Legends redesigned by Tom Clark. The redesign added fluid movement to fairways, 79 distinctive white-sand bunkers, brilliant water features, and demanding varied putting surfaces.
Legends Nine is most famous for its ninth hole—known as the "Mickey Mantle Hole" after the New York Yankees legend who hosted his Mickey Mantle Golf Classic charity tournament at Shangri-La from 1991 until his death in 1995. This challenging par-5 presents a choice of two greens separated by a dramatic and spectacular waterfall, with players either taking the safer straight fairway to the left or attacking the peninsula green over water to the right. The golf course is highlighted by diverse greens complexes featuring rolling greens, distinctive white sand bunkers, and a classic tree-lined layout with magnificent lake views visible from all points, with five sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels.
