Sanyo International Golf Club is a 36-hole facility located in Sanyōonoda City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, situated near Shimonoseki. Designed by Yoshio Asakawa and opening in May 1980, the course is set in hilly terrain at the Rokushu Observation Tower, offering views of the Suo Sea. The layout consists of two distinct 18-hole courses: the East Course and the West Course, both playing to a par of 72. The total yardage from the blue tees is 12,482 yards, with the East Course measuring 6,673 yards and the West Course 6,502 yards. The greens are maintained with Bent grass. The East Course is characterized by wide fairways and a significant number of water hazards. It features a total par of 144 for the combined 36 holes, with the East back nine including a demanding 553-yard 18th hole. The West Course is described as requiring more precise shots than the East. Its front nine includes a long 602-yard 3rd hole and a short 159-yard 7th hole, while the back nine features a 569-yard 13th hole. The course rating is listed at 73.3 for the East Course and 70.8 for the West Course. The facility caters to various styles of play, including casual rounds and competitions, with a reputation for being relatively easy to difficult depending on the tee selection. The East Course utilizes electromagnetic induction carts, while the West Course allows for self-propelled carts. The course offers four sets of tees (blue, white, green, and red) to accommodate different handicaps.
