Rye Golf Club

Rye Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course designed by Devereux Emmet, located in Rye, New York overlooking Long Island Sound. The non-equity membership club is owned and operated by the City of Rye and sits on a 127-acre property that was purchased in 1965.

The course is characterized as challenging and offers scenic water views across Long Island Sound. The layout concludes at the distinctive 18th green, which overlooks Whitby Castle, a historic structure built in 1852 using stones from the original Whitby Abbey in England.

Beyond the golf course, the club features comprehensive amenities including a full-service pro shop, teaching and practice areas, separate golf and pool locker rooms, a halfway house, and snack bar facilities. The property also includes multiple swimming pools and socializing areas, establishing it as a comprehensive recreational facility rather than a golf-only club.
