Rockport Golf Club is located in Rockport, Massachusetts on Cape Ann's tip, a short distance from Boston and the North Shore. Established in December 1913 and incorporated in 1914, the club features a nine-hole layout designed by Essex County Professional Eugene Wogan. The course was developed on farmland originally owned by the Lane and Smith families.
The clubhouse, designed by George W. Harvey, is elevated and offers ocean views along with visibility of every tee and green—reportedly unique among American courses at the time. The course weathered the Great Depression through reorganization efforts led by George I. Emery, ultimately being renamed The Rockport Golf Club. Today, the club maintains approximately 300 members and is recognized for the quality of its fairways and greens. The course is managed by PGA Head Professional Steve Clayton, who has served the club for over 25 years, and Greens Superintendent Bill Yanakakis. The nine-hole design combines scenic coastal setting with solid course conditioning and remains an active membership club in the region.
