Rochester Golf Club is located approximately 7 kilometres southwest of Rochester in Northern Victoria. Established in 1910, the club relocated to its current location in 1984, which was selected for its sandy loam soils that provide excellent drainage. The course measures 5,970 metres and par 71, comprising five par 3s (134-195m), nine par 4s (327-400m), and four par 5s (461-514m).

The layout features gently undulating watered fairways of Bermuda couch grass with sand greens. The course is noted as one of Victoria's driest winter courses, making it playable during seasons when many other courses are waterlogged. The relatively compact yardage and sand greens create a unique playing experience characteristic of regional Victorian golf clubs.

As a public-access course, Rochester Golf Club maintains reciprocal relationships with other golf clubs regionally and nationally, allowing visiting members to play on an arranged basis.
