La Rasa de Berbes was established in 1990 by a group of golf enthusiasts, with the first holes inaugurated in 1994. The course features 18 holes with par 73, and is designed by José Manuel Canfrán and Luis Estévez Fernández. The course is located in the town of Berbes, 10 kilometers from Ribadesella in Asturias. The site offers views of the Picos de Europa national park, the Sueve mountain range, and the Cantabrian Sea.
Due to natural terrain drainage, the course can be played year-round and does not flood. Most tees are elevated and the course can experience wind due to its position. Hole 12 features an S-shaped design and is difficult to judge, while hole 14 has a green positioned in front of a lake. The course is notable for allowing players to golf alongside fallow deer, which habitually walk and graze on the course.
The course is recognized as one of the most natural golf facilities on the Iberian Peninsula and serves as an example of environmental sustainability for Spanish courses.
