Quail Hollow Club is a private 18-hole championship golf course located in Charlotte, North Carolina, considered by many to be one of the finest courses in the United States. The course features a challenging layout with strategic bunkering, water hazards, and severely contoured greens that demand precision play.
The course includes four par-3s, five par-4s, and four par-5s (with varying configurations for member versus championship play). Notable design elements include false fronts, tiered greens, and strategic water features, particularly on closing holes like the treacherous par-3 17th with water guarding the left side and front.
Quail Hollow has hosted numerous prestigious tournaments, including the Kemper Open (1969-1979), World Seniors Invitational (1980-1988), Wachovia Championship (2003-2008), Wells Fargo Championship (2011-2023), the 99th PGA Championship in 2017, the 2022 Presidents Cup, and the 107th PGA Championship in 2025. The course features Champions Park, built in 2004 between holes 9 and 10, honoring professional tournament winners with gold plaques and a distinctive 20-foot fireplace centerpiece.
