The front nine, designed by Henry Hughs, opened in the early 1920s, while the back nine, designed by Frank Hummel, was added in the late 1960s along with a driving range. The course offers varied terrain including tree-lined fairways, rolling hills, and challenging greens with scenic views. Fifty-seven acres of native habitat support wildlife including eagles, hawks, deer, quail, pheasant, and coyotes. Designated as an Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary in 1994, the course benefits from over 300 days of annual sunshine, enabling year-round play. The traditional layout presents challenging tee shots and strategic putting surfaces from multiple tee positions, appealing to golfers seeking a scenic experience in a natural setting.
