Pontardawe Golf Club is situated in the upper Swansea Valley at 600 feet above sea level, overlooking the town of Pontardawe in Wales. The semi-parkland course measures just over 6,100 yards with a par of 70, offering a moderate challenge suitable for golfers of varying abilities.

The layout features gentle inclines throughout, with the walk rewarded by spectacular panoramic views across the surrounding landscape. To the north lie the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountain, while southern vistas encompass the Swansea Valley, Swansea Bay, Mumbles Head, and Bristol Channel. The signature 16th hole, locally known as the "pulpit," is positioned at an elevated tee with the green positioned 150 feet below, providing one of the course's most distinctive features and arguably its most dramatic viewpoint.

The course is described as impeccably manicured and picturesque, with each hole presenting unique challenges.
