Plum Tree National Golf Club is a public 18-hole golf course located in Harvard, Illinois. The course opened in 1968 and was designed by Joe Lee. The par-72 layout plays to 6,695 yards from the back tees and 5,710 yards from the forward tees. Situated on over 200 acres in the unspoiled rolling forest of rural McHenry County, the course features bent grass tees, greens and fairways.
Water hazards come into play on seven holes, with average-width fairways and large, undulating greens that are difficult to read due to hidden breaks. The longest hole is the 547-yard par-5 12th, while hole 6, a 508-yard par-5, is the signature handicap hole. The layout features 105 sand traps and water challenges on several holes.
The course has hosted U.S. Mid-Amateur Qualifying, U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying, and numerous Illinois PGA events. The Joe Lee design is considered challenging and fair.
