Pickering Valley Golf Club features an 18-hole course of 6,572 yards from the longest tees with a par of 72, designed by John Thompson and opened in 1985. The course is a family-owned public golf facility located just off the Malvern/Phoenixville exit of the PA Turnpike and minutes from King of Prussia. Located in the rolling hills of an Ice Age Glacier formation now named The Great Valley, the course offers 18 holes of scenic parkland golf alongside a natural turf driving range and putting green.
With a course rating of 71.0 and a slope rating of 127, Pickering Valley presents a moderately challenging layout suited for golfers of varying abilities. The front side features wide-open pasture with hilly terrain, opened in 1985, while the back nine is also hilly but tighter and more challenging with trees. The hilly course features large and undulating greens, with ponds that come into play at least eight times. The second hole is a long par 3 from an elevated, wooded tee over a pond into a green set among trees.
The course has Bent Grass greens and Rye Grass fairways. Pickering Valley is one of four courses designed by John Thompson in the general area, including Spring Hollow, Moccasin Run, and Furnace Bay in Maryland.
