Palmerston Golf Course is an 18-hole PGA championship course located in tropical surrounds, featuring a par-71 layout. Originally constructed in 1995 and redesigned in 2005 by course designer Glenn Campbell, the course offers two contrasting nine-hole loops that straddle University Avenue. The front nine presents a stronger challenge with long fairways, demanding greens, and water hazards coming into play on six holes. The back nine is well-wooded, requiring accuracy off the tee and on approach shots. The course is framed by tall stands of native trees and waterways, providing an interesting mix of short and long holes suitable for players of all standards. Palmerston Golf Course has hosted the Northern Territory PGA tournament since 2016, establishing itself as a premier venue for professional competition in the region. The facility also includes a bistro, sports bar, and gaming amenities alongside the championship layout.
